    H.E President John Drama Mahama has formally launched the new Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Ghana. The launch comes on the heels of his appointment as CO-Chair of 16 Eminent Advocates by the UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon to assist in the campaign to achieve the SDGs.

  • COP21 conference on climate change Paris, 30 November to 11 December 2015 Dec 2, 2015

    From 30 November to 11 December, governments will convene in Paris for the 21st Conference of the Parties (COP21) to agree on a new global climate change agreement. A universal agreement that covers all countries, developed and developing, the COP21 climate deal will serve as the starting point for a long-term effort to stop global temperatures from rising more than­ 2°C (3.6 degrees Fahrenheit).

    The National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has launched the national and district level flood and drought disaster risk maps in a brief ceremony on Monday, October 15, 2015 in Accra.

  • UNDP holds Joint Political Party Support and strengthening seminar Oct 16, 2015

    The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) brought together the five main political parties in Ghana and the Electoral Commission for a joint party support and strengthening (J-PASS) seminar in Accra. The purpose was to raise awareness of the J-PASS project and to sensitize the political parties about their roles for its successful implementation.

  • UNDP supports national efforts to conserve energy in Ghana Sep 16, 2015

    The Energy Commission in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), PHILIPS as well as Dutch & Co has formally launched a campaign to conserve energy in Ghana. The campaign, dubbed “Cut and Save Energy, targets public sector institutions, particularly the Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) to create awareness on good practices for energy conservation and energy efficiency at their respective workplaces.

  • Ghana joins Philanthropy Platform to foster sustainable development Jul 10, 2015

    More than 100 leaders met in Accra to discuss how to join forces to collectively implement the Post-2015 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Ghana. Participants from business, philanthropy, social investment, the UN system, non-governmental organizations, and government had a rare opportunity to exchange information and share their ideas concerning the future of Ghana’s development. They also discussed a broad array of challenges related to water and sanitation, education, livelihoods, youth employability and more.
