  • GEF SGP GHANA 2017 Call for proposals Apr 5, 2017

    The UNDP Global Environment Facility Small Grants Programme (GEF-SGP) in Ghana has received core funds under the GEF-6 to implement the country programme strategy. Accordingly, the GEF/SGP announces the 2017 "call for proposals" to award small grants of up to US$50,000 to Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and community groups for the most innovative initiatives.

  • Ghana to reduce the menace of mercury in the country Jan 26, 2017

    The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in partnership with UNDP and Global Environment Facility (GEF) has held a three-day joint inception workshop in Accra on the menace of mercury in the country. The aim was to raise awareness among policy makers and the general public on the hazards of mercury to human lives and the environment, and also share insight on the Minamata Convention on Mercury.

    The maiden media awards on SDGs reporting has been held in Accra with Mr. Abdul Hameed Amponsah of Radio Peace, Winneba clinching the top prize. The special awards ceremony which occurred on October 24, UN Day, was to recognize Ghanaian journalists who have demonstrated excellence in reporting on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
