Institutional Strengthening (Phase 9 & 10)
Ghana ratified the Montreal Protocol on 24 July 1989. In 1991, it established the National Ozone Office within the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to respond to mandates of the amended Montreal Protocol. In this regard, the project seeks to provide institutional strengthening support to the National Ozone Office.
The project will allow the National Ozone Office to continue to plan, organize, direct and coordinate all activities required for the implementation of Ghana's strategy in all areas related to the Phase-out of Ozone Depleting Substances under the Montreal Protocol.
Educational materials such as posters, flyers, book makers have been produced to raise the level of awareness and contribute to the phasing out of ozone depleting substances.
Total project budget is US$ 278,200. Project fund is sourced from the Multilateral Fund (MLF) for the Implementation of the Montreal Protocol.
