Ghana Post-2015 Development Agenda Consultation: Localization Report

August 1, 2017

This report is the outcome of Ghana’s Second National Consultation on the Post-2015 Development Agenda and it was based on the theme of ‘Localizing the Post-2015 Agenda’. Ghana was one of the countries selected to undertake in-country consultations that focus on a post-2015 global development agenda captioned “The World We Want”.

While the first round of national consultations focused on the ‘what’ of the post-2015 agenda, this second round of consultations focused on the ‘how’ i.e. stakeholder inputs on the opportunities and challenges as well as the roles and responsibilities of different stakeholders. Recommendations from the consultation focused on the need for: strengthening stakeholder engagement, ownership and effective engagement; government creating an enabling environment for implementation by passing the necessary legislations and providing infrastructure; and transparency and accountability at the district levels.
